Pau Canelles (Onda, Castellón, 1999) estudié en la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, la carrera de Ingeniería de diseño industrial. Posteriormente, cursé una master en gestión de equipos de diseño en ESDesign de Barcelona.

Actualmente, en mi estudio en Onda, me dedico a la producción artística y a la exploración de técnicas variadas que me permitan expresarme.

La creatividad es el punto de unión entre mi formación como ingeniero y mi actualidad como artista "autodidacta", baso gran parte de lo que hago en las soluciones creativas que puedo sacar, cuando llevo mucho tiempo con un mismo proceso y siento que ya no tengo que tirar mano de esta suelo intentar ponérmelo difícil a mi mismo y variar para que sea un reto y así llegar a nuevas soluciones.

En mis pinturas, normalmente centradas en un individuo o dos, saco a relucir mis emociones y pensamientos, siendo el medio y el soporte el espacio que necesito para abrirme y encontrar que esta mal dentro de mi. Entiendo el arte como la mejor manera de curarte a ti mismo, y es por eso que siempre animo a la gente cercana a crear algo, lo que mas rabia les dé.

Mis creaciones han seguido una evolución tanto de medio como de soporte, como he dicho antes me gusta encontrar nuevas soluciones a los mismos problemas de siempre, pero eso es lo que me hace ser quien soy.

Me inspiración viene de la vida cuotidiana, en esta ultima etapa me centro en imágenes realistas en blanco y negro que representan la escala de grises que matiza nuestra vida en contraposición con una variante de pouring que me permite obtener texturas mas prominentes de colores muy llamativos.

Mis influencias abarcan un amplio abanico desde la fotografía de mediados del siglo XX hasta un arte mas surrealista y psicodélico. Artistas como Paul Kenton, Chris Jacoub y Nick Bultman son importantes referentes para mí.

Pau Canelles (Onda, Castellón, 1999) studied Industrial Design Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Valencia. Later, I completed a master’s degree in design team management at ESDesign in Barcelona.

Currently, in my studio in Onda, I focus on artistic production and the exploration of various techniques that allow me to express myself.

Creativity is the link between my training as an engineer and my current path as a "self-taught" artist. Much of what I do is based on the creative solutions I can come up with. When I’ve been working on the same process for a long time and feel like I no longer need to rely on it, I tend to challenge myself by varying it to make it more difficult, turning it into a challenge that leads to new solutions.

In my paintings, usually centered on one or two individuals, I bring out my emotions and thoughts, with the medium and canvas serving as the space I need to open up and discover what’s wrong inside me. I see art as the best way to heal yourself, which is why I always encourage those close to me to create something, whatever speaks to them most.

My creations have evolved both in medium and canvas. As I mentioned earlier, I enjoy finding new solutions to the same old problems, and that’s what defines who I am.

My inspiration comes from everyday life. In this latest stage, I focus on realistic black-and-white images that represent the gray scale that shades our lives, in contrast with a variation of pouring, which allows me to achieve more prominent textures in striking colors.

My influences cover a wide range, from mid-20th-century photography to more surrealist and psychedelic art. Artists like Paul Kenton, Chris Jacoub, and Nick Bultman are significant references for me.
